DL Record

Last year I had the chance to produce, and mix a record for my brother DL Rossi. Some fantastic people put their efforts on this album. I’m really proud to have been a part of this record. It’s a challenging work that won’t be for everyone, but if you can accept art describing a man’s honesty in his journey then give this a listen.

NAMM 2013

Taylor has put the videos of NAMM2013 performances up. Here’s just one of the amazing moments I got to be apart of. So cool…

Go To Eleven

spinaltap-11

I lived in Atlanta for about 2 years. My wife and I loved every moment of it. One of the people that I had the pleasure of creating a friendship with was Dave Stagl. David is a great live engineer at NPCC. I mixed for them on occasion when I was home for the weekends.

Not only is Dave a a great engineer but he does a fantastic job teaching and writing about audio. If you are a live sound engineer you should keep up with him on his blog: www.goingto11.com (yes that is a Spinal Tap reference ). I frequently visit his site and always find a useful piece of information in his thoughtful writing.

Recently Dave did a tutorial for the C6 plug-in by Waves. You can view it here. Take note when you are watching it because you can apply his concept with other plug-ins and tools. Don’t write this off simply because you don’t have C6. You may have a different plug-in or even a piece of outboard gear that can utilize the same technique.

Kelsey Rottiers

Last year I was able to work with Kelsey Rottiers on her new EP “Bear Hope”. Its a moving work, all songs surround the topic of human trafficking.  A portion of Kelsey sales from this record goto causes to help bring awareness and stop this horrible practice that happens everyday around the world.

Kelsey is a fantastic artist. I first had the privilege of working with her when I produced her first record at The Aashrum in Michigan. It was a good time having her down in Nashville at rf.

Check out the project and support a great artist for a great cause

Pensados Place

A great resource for recording and audio engineering is Pensados place. I highly recommend checking out their webpage.

Dave Pensado is a great mixer and a great teacher. He’s not the type to hold his secrets back. I was able to catch one of his workshops at the iZotope booth. Great stuff.

I was spoiled at NAMM and was able to be at a few tapings of Pensados Place. Here is the 100th episode. I’m somewhere there in the audience.

Enjoy!
